“Virgenes del Sol” is a piece written by Peruvian composer Jorge Bravo de Rueda, and its a very popular tune – not only in Peru but in the whole Latin America.
There are many versions of this wonderful piece, including one sang by Yma Súmac. In this arrangement, I tried to keep the original feeling of the piece, but always in a “chamber music” language – and of course, making it fun for the players.
This video was filmed in the Hot Club Reserva and the beautiful city of Gent (Belgium). Special thanks to Jan Bouquet (Hot Club Reserva) for his support to Kinsa Trio.

I first saw the Peruvian Paso horses on parade at the Falkland Stampede. Their stride – gaite – was amazing to see and you can still see that in our YouTube videos. Ivan & Judie Bourelle of Armstrong BC have been breeding the Peruvian Paso horses for more than 20 years, at one time having more than 50 of these magnificent horses. We talked extensively with them at the Armstrong IPE about these gentle horses. More videos will follow where they talk about the history of the Peruvian Paso horses. Today they still have 18 available for sale, you can find them at North Okanagan Peruvian Paso Horse Ranch.
