When was Cuzco, Peru established in the Inca Empire?

Posted on June 28th, 2010 by admin

Does anyone here know the date of the official establishment of the capital of the Inca empire, Cuzco?
thanks!

the best book about it is Historia del Tahuantinsuyo by Maria Rotworoski. Tahuantinsuyo is the inka name of the empire.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find it, Maybe someone didn’t gave it back!

But the Inka empire apeared in early 13th century, they lasted for almost 300 years when the spanish came to conquer in 1532.

I am going to travel Lima ( Peru). How much time and money I need to go to Cuzco and then Machho Piccho?

Posted on June 21st, 2010 by admin

Next week i will visit lima to join a conference, then i will have 2 extra days to move around. Can I visit cuzco or Machho Pichoo, during this short stay? How I can reach from Lima to Machhoo Pichhoo? And also how much it would cost me. Can somebody give me some detail, please?

Hmm, I will be in Lima next week. You will need to take a plan to Cusco. The cost is usually around $120 U.S. From there you can take a bus to Machu Picchu. The plane ride is short and you should easily be able to make the trip.

What is the best way to get to Chincha Alta from the U.S., if I am also planning to visit Cuzco?

Posted on June 18th, 2010 by admin

the best and only way is by bus, unless you rent a car. it’s about 3 hours so it’s kinda close to lima, the capital. the ticket won’t be expensive. but you will have to be careful, cause let me be honest… you never know what will happen. if i were you i’d go first to chincha and then cusco. so yeah i hope i answered your q.

Is there a departure tax when flying from Cuzco Peru to Lima?

Posted on June 16th, 2010 by admin

Yes there is a national tax you need to pay and it’s 6 dolares or 18 soles.
Check the airport’s web page.
Even if it’s the same country as the other person says, there is a national tax (check the web page!) and everyone (peruvians or not) must pay the 6 dollars tax which sometimes may have been included in the price of the ticket. Check that at the counter.

CUSCO Cuzco Peru

Posted on June 15th, 2010 by admin

CuzcoToday a proud symbol of the Conquistadores, the historic Spanish conquerors, towers over the town of Cuzco in Perus mountains.Prior to the arrival of the Spanish, Cuzco lay at the centre of the Inca world and was the capital and religious centre of an immense kingdom. The unique combination of Spanish and Inca culture is apparent in the attractive architecture of the town.Typical characteristics of the houses are the overhanging tiled roofs and beautiful old balconies. One of the towns most extravagant colonial buildings, the CompaDe Jesurch in the Plaza De Armas Square, was built on mighty Inca foundations. Some of Cuzcos streets still display the impressive and sturdy architecture of the Inca people.Attractive houses line the former procession roads of the Inca that led from the main square, todays Plaza De Armas, to the Sun Temple.Although historic, Cuzco is full of mystery and speculation with regard to its famous Inca predecessors. Global Treasures – History’s Most Protected Monuments – Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration.Places as unique and diverse as the wilds of East Africa’s Serengeti, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the Baroque cathedrals of Latin America make up our world’s heritage.Join us as we explore one of these protected monuments.
