“Virgenes del Sol” is a piece written by Peruvian composer Jorge Bravo de Rueda, and its a very popular tune – not only in Peru but in the whole Latin America.
There are many versions of this wonderful piece, including one sang by Yma Súmac. In this arrangement, I tried to keep the original feeling of the piece, but always in a “chamber music” language – and of course, making it fun for the players.
This video was filmed in the Hot Club Reserva and the beautiful city of Gent (Belgium). Special thanks to Jan Bouquet (Hot Club Reserva) for his support to Kinsa Trio.

I live in Florida and am going to spend a little bit of time in Cuzco. I will be there between the 29th of July and the 11th of August. I have no clue what to pack! I just have no idea what to expect. If you know, or have had any of those " damn I wish I had…", let me know what you wish you wouldn’t of forgotten. Also, do I need any vaccinations?
For Cuzco, you will need warm clothes, especially at night. It is the middle of winter here in Peru. I would suggest you leave space in your baggage to bring back some things, especially those made from alpaca. You will need all of the ¨little¨ things you need in Florida, but remember that the electricity in Peru is 220 volts. An electrical converter might be necessary. Vaccinations are not required and, unless you are traveling to the Amazon area of Peru, not needed.
I want to see machu picchu and lake titicaca! But I am traveling solo and would much rather have some buddies to explore with. I am very social and friendly by nature; I think I would get bored being by myself. Let me know if you happen to be going (or want to go) to Peru in july and would like to join me!
I can hardly afford to go myself so no I cannot pay for a traveling companion(s).
HELL YEAHHHHHHHHHHH
but already went there, and it is not more that rocks, i think we should go to see something real, something wild!
LETS GO TO COLOMBIA!
i know some great places there like:
bogota (capital)
amazonas jungle
cartagena de indias
Coffe area (area cafetera)
and go to some parties.. drinking age is 18
It’s come to this in Hugo Chávez’s Venezuela: The president is pleading with people to save water by limiting their daily cleansing routine to a 3-minute “communist shower.”
Really. This is just the latest indication of how badly Mr. Chávez continues to mismanage the economy of energy-rich Venezuela, which should be one of the most prosperous nations in the world to judge from its vast hydrocarbon reserves.
Instead of offering Venezuela’s 27 million people a better life, Mr. Chávez “Bolivarian socialism” has squandered the nation’s wealth on military armament, populist schemes and the creation of a patronage state, a prescription for ruin and misery.
As a result, the deterioration of basic services that has characterized his prolonged tenure at Miraflores Palace is becoming impossible to deny. Today, water rationing and power shortages have become recurring, frustrating features of daily life.
I’ll take an extra long shower tomorrow to make up for it. Can’t wait for Cap and Tax…er…Trade.
